About VMX Construction

Our story
VMX Construction is a ground-up commercial builder based in New Braunfels, Texas, owned and led by Douglas Morton. Douglas came to construction by a route that shows up in how he runs jobs: he served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an MV-22 Osprey crew chief and collateral duty inspector (2007–2015, including Reserve service), then worked as an FAA parts inspector in the aviation industry (2015–2019) — two careers where inspection standards are not optional. He has owned and operated his construction company since 2019, building ground-up medical offices, dental clinics, medical spas, and retail buildings across Texas. VMX's most recent completed build, a ground-up aesthetics and wellness facility in New Braunfels, went from groundbreaking to keys in ten months.

How we build
VMX runs lean and owner-led: no layers of project managers between you and the person accountable for your build. When you call VMX, you talk to Douglas. We specialize in ground-up work — sitework, foundation, structure, envelope, and clinical interiors — for practice owners, developers, and commercial property owners. Our projects are documented in the open: progress photography at every phase, written schedules, and decisions tracked as they are made. VMX Construction is a service-connected disabled veteran owned business (our federal and state veteran certifications are in progress), and the company carries commercial general liability insurance.

Where we build
Based in New Braunfels, we serve San Antonio, Austin, Dallas–Fort Worth, and Houston, the I-35 corridor communities between them — San Marcos, Seguin, Boerne, Schertz, Cibolo, Bulverde, Kyle, Buda, and Georgetown — and ground-up projects statewide across Texas.
